Today, as I start getting back into blogging and posting, I would like to focus on a charity that I will be doing some work with, the Youth Media Minds of America. The mission of YMMA is to “provide state-of-the-art multimedia communications training and experience to at-risk and underserved youth, ages 14-18, to supplement their secondary education and adequately prepare them for educational and employment opportunities in the multimedia field.” We will be providing kids with the skills and experience that they can actually take and make a career out of.
In the near future, I plan on sitting down with the organization’s founders to discuss how they can improve their impact to the community, increase their exposure, and increase their donations. I am also looking forward to teaching the students video production techniques, online video technology, and web design. I am really looking forward to this opportunity in helping these kids and taking this organization to the next level.
