Weekend Roundup, 9-14-09

  • So, I thought it would be interesting to post some of the things I found interesting during the past weekend.  First off, my ALTA season started and my team is ranked B-8. I played in my first match in line 2 and won 6-2 6-4 despite the fact that my partner was suffering from the flu (he was cramping the entire 2nd set). My team took three points which is a good start to the season. As much as I have improved with my recent tennis play, I will not be trying what Federer did in his match against Djokovic today.

Unbelievable! Definitely recommend everyone watching that match tomorrow.

  • So Georgia Tech beat Clemson 30-27 last Thursday in a pretty good game that saw Tech go up 24-0, then give up 27 points to be down 24-27 before coming back with 2 scoring drives to win 30-27.   Luckily, I now have 2 weeks before the next home game so I can add some good content to the video boards for the next game.
  • GT beat an in-conference team from South Carolina and moved up a spot in the AP Poll, while UGA also beat an in-conference team from South Carolina and dropped two spots.
  • The Falcons won their first game in the new 2009 season, beating Miami 19-7.  The defense appeared to be much better than I anticipated.
  • The Braves swept the St. Louis Cardinals, which can be described as being “too little, too late”

Should be another busy week, with hopefully some progress in getting my new companies started.
